WA Premier Visit Greenbushes

We’re creating 750 permanent jobs in the South West to help with the global transition to clean energy.

Talison Lithium was pleased to host in November 2022 Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan, Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade Roger Cook, Minister for Mines and Petroleum Bill Johnston, and Member for Warren Blackwood Jane Kelsbie MLA, at our Greenbushes Lithium Operation.

Talison’s Greenbushes Lithium Operation is renowned for having the largest, and highest quality spodumene ore deposit in the world, and currently supplies 22 per cent of the global lithium market.

Lithium is crucial to the future of electrification, and as the world turns towards more clean technologies, the demand for lithium will continue to rise.

During a tour of the mine, General Manager of Operations Craig Dawson, explained the important role the lithium Talison produces plays in enabling the global transition to clean energy.

“While the global transition to cleaner energy relies on the lithium we mine, we rely on the people who make that possible,” Mr Dawson said.

“Our employees are at the heart of what we do, and as the demand for our product grows, so too will our team.

“In the past year we have created an additional 180 new jobs, bringing our current Greenbushes workforce to over 1,000.

“Over the next five years we will need to create an additional 750 permanent roles to keep up with the demand for our product.”
