Sixteen nesting boxes to support a range of birdlife have been installed at Schwenke’s Dam and surrounding community walk trails by the Blackwood Basin Group in partnership with the Talison Environment Team.
The boxes were built by local community shed groups, and will create additional safe nesting sites for a range of birds. The Blackwood Basin Group will collect data and monitor bird populations around Schwenke’s Dam. The nesting boxes will complement existing cockatoo breeding tubes and floating islands previously installed at Schwenke’s Dam.
